Richard “Ricky” Maxey was born in Somerset Kentucky and grew up in Science Hill. He was raised on a small hobby horse farm with a farming background. Both sides of his family have row crop and beef cattle operations. Growing up he worked for his dad, helping with his Lawn, Landscaping and Construction company.
Ricky graduated from Pulaski County High school in 2017 and pursued a college degree at Western Kentucky University. Ricky graduated from WKU in 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture with a concentration in Agronomy and Agribusiness.
Ricky was recently hired at Warner Fertilizer as the new Agronomist. He plans to grow his agronomic knowledge and use that to help farmers with their everyday practices to help them feel more certain in what they are producing in a very uncertain industry.
